UBL vs Factur-X: which format to choose?
Comparison of the two European e-invoicing standards
UBL is pure XML (no visual PDF), adopted by Peppol and widely used in B2G. Factur-X is hybrid PDF/A-3 + CII XML, ideal for human-to-machine transition and championed in France. For international B2G (EU), choose UBL via Peppol. For French B2B 2026, choose Factur-X. Scell.io generates both on demand (plus CII).
